The President of Moldova Maia Sandu started her program at the World Economic Forum in Davos with a meeting with the Prime Minister of Luxemburg Xavier Bettel. The interlocutors discussed the security situation in the region influenced by the war in Ukraine, IPN reports.

The two officials also discussed the support needed by the Republic of Moldova in the context of the energy crisis and the cooperation between the two countries in advancing the European integration agenda of Moldova.

“I thanked Premier Bettel for the assistance provided in the humanitarian and defense sectors and for the support for our European course,” said Maia Sandu, being quoted in a press release.

The official invited again the Prime Minister of Luxemburg to pay a visit to Chisinau on June 1, when the European Political Community will convene in Moldova’s capital city.

President Sandu will take part in the World Economic Forum during January 17-19. While in Switzerland, she will have meetings with world leaders and high-ranking officials from a number of states and with representatives of the business community.

The 53rd meeting of the forum themed “Cooperation in a Fragmented World” will center on such issues as ways of resolving the current energy and food crises and potential solutions to the current geopolitical risks, including in the region.
