A number of regional roads will be repaired next year besides national ones. The announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Transport Boris Gherasim in the program “Place for dialogue” on the public station “Radio Moldova”, IPN reports.
According to Boris Gherasim, the Government found the necessary sum of €80 million and in the near future will hold a tender contest to choose companies that will deal with this project. Priority will be given to the repair of roads between villages going to schools.
There were finished the works to repair several road sectors of national importance such as Sarateni-Soroca, Comrat –Ciumai and Chisinau –Ungheni. Boris Gherasim said that even if foreign companies with experience in the field are involved in the repair of roads, there are cases when the works are of a poor quality. In such cases, the companies are issued with prescriptions that they must follow. “We impose tough conditions on them, especially as regards the time limits for executing the works. But they must understand that they need to adopt a serious attitude and that we are not a banana republic,” he stated.
According to Boris Gherasim, there are no more very bad roads in Moldova, while the bad roads will ‘disappear’ in two years.
