Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that at the initial phase of development, these projects need the authorities’ support, IPN reports.

The official stated that the development of production infrastructure will take place simultaneously with the construction of networks of roads, water supply and sewerage systems, and natural gas supply systems. These projects are primarily financed by the regional development fund.

Currently, in Moldova there are seven industrial parks, namely Tracom, Cimislia, Bioenergagro, CAAN, Raut, Edinet, and Triveneta Cavi Development. In 2010-2011, the Ministry of Economy, with the support of UNDP, carried out nine feasibility studies centering on the creation of industrial parks in the country’s regions. The studies showed that the parks will generate 11,000 workplaces and will have a cumulative turnover of 1.03 billion lei a year.
