The representative of EPOS Health Consultants (Germany), project director Oxana Abovskaia, in a meeting with the interim mayor of Chisinau Vasile Ursu declared that one year after the “Reforms in public health” project, financed by the European Union, was commenced, extensive medical staff training were performed, and soon 149 computers with an overall value of EUR 140 thousands will be bought. According to the source, two test-regions were selected for the implementation of the project, one of which is the Territorial Medical Association from Chisinau. Oxana Abovskaia declared that the objectives of the project are consolidation of administrative competence and health system management of the Republic of Moldova. The project director expressed her hopes that the implementation of the informational system in a medical association from Chisinau will serve as an example for other cities from the republic. “Reforms in public health” project, launched on August 24 2005, foresees the creation of an electronic card for each patient, doctors and managers trainings in order to increase efficiency of available financial means usage, use of patient’s ideas regarding the quality of the medical services, ideas that are supposed to be used in other areas of the republic. By introducing the electronic cards of the patient the activity of family doctors will be optimized, and of the specialists that will have to deal with information about the patient’s health condition and will be spared from reading multiple descriptions from their files. In the same time, with help of software created according the technological possibilities of RM, patient’s health condition could be checked even from the offices of the Ministry of Health. The project has a cost of EUR 800 thousands, from which EUR 500 thousands will be spent on informational systems, and is financed by the European Union and implemented by a three company consortium – EPOS Health Consultants (Germany), GVG (Germany), and HMTC (Hungary).
