The Chisinau councilors will examine the proposal to hold a referendum on the dismissal of Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. The issue was included in the agenda of the October 10 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council by the votes of 21 Communist and Socialist councilors, IPN reports.
Earlier this week, the initiative group of the Party of Socialists submitted an application to the Chisinau City Hall, asking including the proposal to hold the plebiscite in the Council’s agenda. The leader of the Socialists said 60,000 signatures of residents of Chisinau municipality are needed for initiating a referendum, but they gathered over 90,000.
