The young teaching specialists during the first three years of work will benefit from a reduction to 75% of the amount of work for the basic salary, IPN reports. A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet on January 18 following negotiations held with education trade unions.
The 2017 state budget law provides that 18.3 million lei will be allocated for related purposes.
Also, in order to stimulate participation in the national contest “Teacher of the Year”, awards of 50,000 lei, 25,000 lei and 15,000 lei were instituted for the following categories: Professor of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Educator of the Year. The winners of the contest will obtain the next teaching rank. Those who hold a senior teaching rank will have this confirmed.
