The power distribution networks RED “Union Fenosa”, RED-Nord and RED Nord-Vest asked the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to raise the electric power distribution tariffs by 9% to 12%, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a communiqué, the ANRE says that the state-run company IS “Moldelectrica” also requested increasing the transportation tariff from 6.76 bani to 10.73 bani per kWh.
On April 20, the ANRE will start public consultations with representatives of the REDs. The requests to the ANRE have been made this week. On April 1, the old contracts for the import of electric power signed with Ukraine and the Cuchurgan Power Plant expired. Under the new contracts, the import price of electricity is by 13.2% higher. All the REDs currently import electric power at the price of 6.9 cents per kWh.
The household users connected to the low voltage power lines used by RED “Union Fenosa” now pay 1.48 lei per kWh, while those supplied by RED-Nord and RED Nord-Vest – by 1.57 lei per kWh.
