The municipality of Chisinau’s coronavirus alert level was downed from red to orange. It means spectators will now attend sports events physically, but the wearing of masks in all open and closed public places, including on the street and in public transport, remains mandatory, IPN reports.

In a meeting on May 21, the Municipal Extraordinary Public Health Commission also decided that
free access will be ensured to all the primary medical assistance institutions for vaccination against the novel coronavirus, regardless of the place of residence, for all the citizens aged 18 and over from the municipality of Chisinau and from the rest of Moldova.

“The vaccine against COVID-19 saves lives and protects from serious and critical forms of coronavirus, while immunization is an act of civic responsibility aimed at fighting the pandemic and returning to normality. Vaccination is free,” says the Commission’s decision.

Spectators will be allowed to attend sports events at gymnasiums and open-air grounds, but the audience should not exceed 50% of the available capacity, by obeying public health measures.

Depending on the evolution and tendency of the epidemiological situation, the public health measures will be reviewed.

The non-observance of the public health measures poses threats to public health and will serve as a reason for holding those to blame accountable, warn the authorities.
