The red alert for the risk of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Chisinau is kept. In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services, the head of the General Social Assistance and Health Division Tatiana Bucharschi said the situation concerning infection with COVID-19 on the territory of the municipality remains alarming, IPN reports.
Specialists reiterate the necessity of strictly respecting the measures to prevent and control infection with COVID-19 and urge the people to obey the respiratory hygiene rules by mandatorily wearing masks in public transport, commercial areas and other closed public places and also in open public places if social distancing cannot be maintained. The mask must cover both the mouth and nose.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Moldova so far has got over 71,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, more than 31,000 of which in the municipality of Chisinau. The death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 1,685, 585 of which in the municipality of Chisinau.
