As from October 8 this year, the people will no longer need to present the records of punishment at state institutions, while another four documents, namely the health policy, medical certificate, entrepreneur’s patent and certificate of paid taxes on paper, will be annulled in the nearest future, Prime Minister Pavel Filip announced in an event centering on the data exchange platform MConnect, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

Pavel Filip said there are all the components needed to work online and all the conditions for the state institutions to no longer issue paper certificates. “Today we all use electronic platforms, but the state continues to treat the people as mail carriers. One of the objectives is to reach the situation when the citizens will no longer need certificates and it will be enough to present only the identity card in the relations with a state institution,” he stated.

The records of punishment will no longer be needed when applying for a driver’s license or for license plates. As to the health policy, the personal data are contained in the registers of the National House of Social Insurance. The e-medical certificate is functional for medical certificates, while for the certificate of paid taxes all the information is public and is available in electronic format.

Pavel Filip said the list of cancelled documents will be extended. To offer accessible services centering on the people, he called on the public institutions to be more insistent in using the platform MConnect. Currently, over 30 institutions are connected to this platform and these exchange electronic data in real time.

The platform MConnect is implemented by the Electronic Governance Agency to facilitate the exchange of electronic data between the public authorities without asking for information from the citizens and the business community in the form of certificates and reports.
