As many as 19 polling places for the Romanian parliamentary elections will be opened in Moldova on December 9, Romanian Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca told a news conference on Tuesday. This is a record number of polling places for the Romanian elections established in Moldova. Four of the 19 polling places will be located in Chisinau and by one in Ialoveni, Orhei, Nisporeni, Causeni, Hancesti, Calarasi, Balti, Ungheni, Soroca, Cahul, Cimislia, Cantemir, Telenesti, Drochia, and Stefan-Voda. The persons holding Romanian nationality will be able to vote at the polling places in Moldova using the passport, where it is shown that the holder resides in Moldova, the ordinary passport accompanied by the Moldovan identity card showing that the place of residence is in Moldova, and the ordinary passport accompanied by the permit of stay in Moldova. The Romanian voters in Moldova can also phone a call center (022 855 003) to find out relevant information about the elections or use the e-mail address alegeri2012@ambasadaromaniei.md. At a TV channel last week, Marius Lazurca said that there are about 250,000 Romanian citizens in Moldova and more than 10,000 persons are expected to take part in the December 9 elections.
