Reconstruction works of the Memorial Compound “Military Glory” will be finished until 27 August

The reconstruction works of the Memorial Compound «Military Glory» and civil cemetery «Eternity» on the street Armeneasca shall be finished till August 2006, the interim mayor of the capital, Vasile Ursu, announced during the Tuesday meeting. The interim mayor mentioned that, even it was foreseen to finish it until 9 May, this thing is not possible, just till 27 August, on Independence Day of Moldova. For Reconstruction works there were foreseen of the local budget 2 million lei and 5 million lei of the local budget, as the cost is 35 million lei, the rest of money shall be taken of the public sources, Ursu reported. In the same time, he said that the granite needed for reconstruction works was purchased very cheaply of the businessmen of Russian Federation, at the price of 30% of the real cost of the material, thing that allowed to save 8 million lei of the money foreseen for this construction. The reconstruction works of the compound «Military Glory» include changing of the pavement and engineer networks, to fence the territory of the street Pan Halippa, Vasile Alecsandri and Alexei Mateevici and to execute many restoring works, modernising of the compound and cemetery.
