The National Patrolling Inspectorate recommends the drivers to be maximally prudent on the road when visibility is poor, especially in the morning and in the evening, when the traffic is intense and when the roadway is wet, IPN reports.

Thus, when the roadway is wet, the motorists are urged to avoid pressing the vehicle, to travel at a lower speed adjusted permanently to the conditions on the road and to perform each maneuver only after making sure beforehand.

When visibility in the rearview mirror of the vehicle is bad owing to rain or fog, the use of headlamps and front fog lamps reduces the risk of accidents.

“We remind the drivers that they are obliged to obey the speed limit in towns and villages and outside them as this allows stopping safely when a dangerous situation appears. The distance between vehicles when moving should be increased so as to ensure safety,” the Inspectorate says in a press release.

The pedestrians are recommended to walk only on sidewalks and to cross the street only in crosswalks when stoplights show green.
