Strengthening the capacities of central public authorities and nongovernmental organizations for informing the young people about all the solutions provided by the Government is a first step that must be taken to deal with the problems and difficulties faced by the youth. The recommendation was made in the national conference “Development of intersector cooperation in the area of youth policies” that was staged by the Ministry of Youth and Sport with the support of EPYRU, IPN reports.

It is suggested creating an information portal where each central public authority will have to publish information about the services and solutions resulting from the sector public policies. The Ministry of Youth and Sport will bear responsibility for developing this instrument that will strengthen and reflect the intersector efforts in the youth sector.

In this respect, the Ministry will annually update and systemize the list of problems and difficulties encountered by the young people, which the central public authorities must address. The Ministry will take all the necessary measures for the solutions provided by every sector to be brought as close to the young people as possible.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Sergiu Stanciu said there is sufficient intention and capacity for this recommendation to be put into practice. “But we must not forget that we should do these things in concert. Each of us should contribute to developing this instrument,” he stated.

According to him, attempts were made in Moldova to work out online platforms for the young people, but they weren’t so broad and offered mainly solutions for spending the leisure time. “If we manage to implement this instrument, I’m sure it will be useful on a long term. It will be a mirror of the intersector cooperation in the youth sector,” said the deputy minister.

Expert of the Eastern Partnership Youth Regional Unit (EPYRU) Behrooz Motamed-Afshari said that this recommendation has a great accomplishment potential and integrates the young people and ministries in the youth policy area. “This is not only an information instrument. It is also an instrument for monitoring the process. The Ministry of Youth and Sport of Moldova assumes great responsibility if it implements this recommendation because it will have to work and develop in a very complex system,” said the expert, adding that Moldova will be the first that will create such a portal within the Eastern Partnership.

Another recommendation formulated in the conference is to institute the local youth service as a separate service with experienced specialists, which would be managed directly by the district head. Only this way will the appropriate implementation of the youth policies and the monitoring and development of intersector cooperation at local level be ensured. Currently, youth specialists work in other divisions such as education, culture and social assistance.
