Reckless smoking kills again

A man, 58, died of carbon monoxide poisoning in his Chisinau home last night; a burning cigarette butt is believed to be the cause of the death, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Civil Protection Department.
The fire crew that came to the scene found the apartment filled with thick smoke and barely touched by fire. The flames didn't touch the victim either. The police are now investigating to establish the exact circumstances and the cause of the death.
The Civil Protection Department warns that reckless smoking indoors is the leading cause of apartment fires, most often causing casualties.
