A Donduseni man, 66, was stabbed eight times with a kitchen knife by his 31-old-son, who allegedly chopped the body up and threw the limbs in a pond nearby to get rid of evidence, the Interiors Ministry reported. Rests of the beheaded and limbless body were found by the police in the bathtub of the apartment shared by the father and the son. The man was reported missing to the Donduseni police by an alarmed neighbor. During the arrest, the suspect was visibly nervous, holding in his hands a pair of scissors, a blanket and an electrical wired. He later confessed to the crime, recalling the events in minute details, it was reported. In 2003, the suspect killed his brother but the court declared him mentally ill and spared him from jail. Until 2005 he received treatment at the psychiatric hospital in Balti. Later he worked at a veterinary drugstore owned by his father. If found guilty, the man could serve up to 25 years' imprisonment or even a life term.
