The actions that were said to have been reforms are nothing but poor simulations, economic analyst Veaceslav Ionta told Info-Prim Neo, when asked to comment on the economic development of Moldova after the last Parliamentary elections held on March 6, 2005. According to Ionita, the elections held in 2005 did not have any contribution to the present economic situation. On the whole, we are the witnesses of a pitiable economic state of affairs which is generated by the lack of economic strategies during the last 5-6 years and the lack of adequate behaviour if speaking about the business environment, the expert considers. According to the cited source, the lack of reforms or their simulation has lead to an unbearable environment for business and as a consequence to the diminishing of the industrial output. The most regrettable fact is that this diminution will be associated with the bans imposed by the Russian federation and not with the incapacity of the government, which means that the necessity for reforms in the economic system will be overlooked again, Veaceslav Ionita considers. Among the steps which must be taken within the next 2 years in order to improve the economic situation of Moldova is the necessity to reduce inspection bodies, the analyst says, as well as to strengthen regulatory institutions in specific markets (telecommunications, competition, energy etc.)
