Political pundit Corneliu Gurin thinks that the allegations accusing PL, PLDM and AMN of organizing the events on April 7 are related to the Communists’ earlier statements that this fall would be a “hot one” politically. The expert finds it curious that the allegations coincided with the announcement of new actions as part of the “I Love Moldova” campaign, initiated by Communist MP Igor Dodon, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Some serious accusations have been brought against public persons, politicians and protagonists of the events on April 7. The manner of these allegations indicates a certain manipulation of public opinion, but it’s not clear by whom. We must see who would benefit such an approach. Three parties were said to be the organizers, while the Party of Communists, then governing, allegedly stopped the bloodshed”, said the expert. According to Corneliu Gurin, it’s pretty curious the statements have been synchronized with the launch of the latest actions within the “I Love Moldova” campaign. “We’re attending some political confrontations. The Prime Minister has returned from holiday. Promises of a hot fall have been made. What happens now looks like a comeback that shows the events of April 7 haven’t been elucidated yet and questions the legitimacy of the processes that happened after. The current opposition, the former government, will try to make the most of it as it feels those events led to its dethronement”, explained the expert. Corneliu Gurin says that similar statements were made after April 7, but were anonymous. The video footage confirmed the things spoken of at the press conference and namely young men from extremist organizations being trained in Vadul lui Voda. The expert added that at the time, there was speculation about a coup d’etat attempt organized with the support of Romanian extremist organizations. “We’ll see the reaction of people who have been mentioned and what evidence will be brought to support these declarations. These are just the words of a young person, most likely influenced by someone”, says Corneliu Gurin. He thinks the Prosecutor General’s Office should restore the parliamentary investigation commission or create a special workgroup within the PGO. On Thursday, August 11, a young man who claims to be the leader of the National Nacist (sic) Association and a young woman from the unregistered Anticommunist People’s Alliance held a press conference where they accused the Liberal Party, the Liberal-Democratic Party and the no longer existing Moldova Noastra Alliance of organizing the events on April 7, 2009, which led to the ravage of governmental buildings.
