The June 12 torrential rain left almost 30 settlements from seven districts without power. The cells of two houses were flooded, while hail damaged hectares of crops.
Diana Turcan, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told IPN that only one settlement from Cahul district is still disconnected from the power supply. A specialized team is working on the spot.
In Coropceni village of Telenesti district, the heavy rain and high winds destroyed about 1,500 square meters of polyethylene from three greenhouses. In a number of villages in Ungheni, Rascani and Nisporeni districts, hectares of crops were destroyed. The exact areas affected will be determined by the local emergencies commissions.
In Marinici village of Nisporeni district, the cells were partially flooded and rescuers helped pump the water out. The two vehicles by which a group of persons went to rest at a lake near Glinjeni, Falesti got stuck. The rescuers towed the cars up to the main street.
Rain is expected to fall until the end of this week. From next Monday, it will grow warmer and temperatures will rise to over 30 degrees Celsius.
