The beneficiaries cannot receive their social benefits because of what appears to be a bank transfer delay, Info-Prim Neo reports.
But the National Social Insurance Corporation (CNAS) asserts that it transferred the required amounts and doesn't know where the problem is. The opposite is stated by the bank.
“People are coming to take their welfare money but we are forced to tell them to come on a later date. The money hasn't been transferred from the National Social Insurance Corporation”, Nina Ghercave of the Banca de Economii has told Info-Prim Neo.
She added that officials at the CNAS promised to make the transfer by the end of the week.
At the same time, the CNAS leadership says the money was transferred several days ago. “I cannot see the reasons why people are unable to receive their money. It's probably because of some sort of technical problem. We have no debts in this regard”, stated CNAS president Maria Borta.
The CNAS leadership asserts the funds in respect of pensions were transferred on June 22, while the transfer in respect of other social benefits on June 23.
However, Maria Borta admitted there were minor delays in transferring the money owing to delayed payments from employers. “The social insurance budget forms from monthly payments made by companies”, she explained.
Maria Borta also dismissed predictions by certain economic analysts that the payment of social benefits may be delayed for two months. “As far as I'm concerned there are no such threats, because the collected amounts are sufficient and, once the schedule is modified, people will get used and will not hurry to take their money on the date of 15, but will wait until the date of 20 of a particular month”, said Maria Borta.
The total monthly amount of social welfare is 510 million lei, doled out to roughly 700 beneficiaries.
