The Cabinet led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean was accepted by a majority of votes of the MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity. The group of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists blocked the central rostrum in protest at the limitation of speeches. They chanted “Shame” and “Snap Elections” during the voting. The new Cabinet was voted in amid a protest staged close to the Parliament Building by the National Movement for People, which involves the Shor Party. The MPs of the Shor Party were absent from the Parliament sitting, IPN reports.

The new Cabinet includes four posts of Deputy Prime Minister. As in the previous Cabinet, there is the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration that was kept by Oleg Serebrian, and another post of Deputy Prime Minister that is held by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu. Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, and Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, will also serve as Deputy Premiers.

The former Cabinet members who kept their posts in the Recean Government are: Minister of Home Affairs Ana Revenco; Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi; Minister of Environment Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov; Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu; Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală; Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco, and Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan.

Veronica Sirețeanu is the new Minister of Finance, Veronica Mihailov-Moraru is the new Minister of Justice, Lilia Dabija is the new Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, while Victor Parlicov will manage the newly created Ministry of Energy.

The BCS MPs said they will go to the Constitutional Court as they consider the consultations with the parliamentary groups to identify a candidate for Prime Minister were mimicked.

On February 10, Dorin Recean was designated for premiership by President Maia Sandu after Natalia Gavrilița vacated the post earlier the same day. He served as minister of home affairs in the Filat Government and the Leancă Government. Last February, Dorin Recean was named adviser on defense and national security to President Sandu.
