The initialing of the Association Agreement with the EU is not the subject for a censure motion as it is related to the country’s foreign policy, Head of Parliament Igor Corman said after the Communists demanded giving a vote of no confidence to the Government headed by Iurie Leanca for the reason that it negotiated the provisions of the Association Agreement in secret, IPN reports.

“This situation reveals that the Parliament’s Regulations contain faults. The invoked reason is not the subject for a motion. Furthermore, this agreement was only initialed, not yet signed. It will take effect after it is signed and ratified. Given these ambiguities, the issues will be discussed tomorrow when debating the Regulations in the second reading,” said the Speaker.

As to the fate of the new censure motion submitted by the Communists, Igor Corman said it is evident that it will have the same destiny as the previous two motions, which didn’t garner the necessary number of votes.

The censure motion will be examined by Parliament on December 11.
