Lorenzo Sanz, former president of Real Madrid and now owner of Málaga CF, was in Chisinau on a three-hour visit last weekend to meet with Moldovan businessman Gabriel Stati, the owner of FC Dacia, with whom he discussed a possible purchase of a stake in the Chisinau-based club, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release, Sanz “has expressed his interest in the evolution of FC Dacia and is considering buying 50 percent of its stock”. The two businessmen also discussed potential player transfers among their clubs. Lorenzo Sanz, 65, purchased Málaga CF in July 2006. His son Fernando, a former player with Real Madrid and Málaga, is the club's president. In May 2008, it has been reported that Sanz is looking to buy Italian club AS Bari. Earlier, it has been rumored that American actor and director Steven Segal is also interested in becoming a shareholder in FC Dacia, after visiting Chisinau on Stati's invitation.
