Events dedicated to the National Reading Day, which is marked on February 14, will take place in Moldova during a few days. Among the main events of this year's edition is the launch of the 14th National Campaign to Promote Reading "Let's Read Together!". The third edition of the national project "Open Book" to promote reading will also be launched, IPN reports.

"The National Reading Campaign has the fundamental objective of establishing reading as a habit for all ages, consolidating a knowledge-based society. The initiative emphasizes the importance of reading as an essential skill for lifelong learning," said the Ministry of Culture.

According to the institution, the National Reading Day, marked for the third consecutive year in Moldova, brings together government institutions, private entities, educational and cultural institutions to create a community of well-informed readers.

"The Ministry of Culture encourages reading to be a constant part of the routine, throughout life. In the center of attention: libraries and writers, the public. As two closely intertwined threads in the 2025 agenda are the Mihai Eminescu Year (175 years since his birth) and the works of late poet Grigore Vieru (90 years since his birth)," reads a press release.

In memory of Grigore Vieru, a musical-poetic event entitled "The Poet and Music" and an exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the poet's birth will be staged.

"Anyone can mark this day by reading a favorite book, distributing book titles and reviews of reading, giving books to friends or organizing literary activities, such as book clubs, creative writing workshops or discussions about literature and the personalities who mark it," noted the Ministry of Culture.

The program of activities dedicated to the National Reading Day 2025 is available from the official website of the Ministry of Culture.
