The ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU does not mean that Moldova will have bad relations with Russia, Ukraine or Romania, said Democratic lawmaker Dumitru Diacov. Within a survey carried out by IPN among lawmakers, the MP said that he will vote for the ratification of the accord so that Moldova makes progress.

“We worked hard to have this accord signed and ratified. I’m almost sure that there won’t be problems and the agreement will be ratified. The Republic of Moldova showed it is a country that can be trusted,” said Dumitru Diacov.

He underlined that a country cannot go in one direction during several years and then drop out and go in a different direction. “We risk remaining without friends if we play and do experiments. Moldova is a small country. We have a lot of problems and we can solve them together with the partners. We need serious partners as the partners need a serious Moldova,” stated Dumitru Diacov.

Moldova will sign the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27. Parliament is to ratify the accord by the end of July.
