As a result of the heavy rain of the last few days, 43 settlements in 14 districts were disconnected from the power supply. In some of the settlements, employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service intervened and towed units of transport that got stuck in the traffic, IPN reports.
The settlements that remained without electricity are from the districts of Falesti, Causeni, Stefan Voda, Hancesti, Cahul, Basarabeasca, Leova, Taraclia, UTA Gagauzia, Rezina, Orhei, Straseni, Ialoveni, and the municipality of Chisinau.
In the municipality of Chisinau, the rescuers received over 100 requests for aid from people after their basements and homes were flooded. The firefighters dealt with emergencies at different addresses on the streets Calea Iesilor, Milescu Spataru, Putnei, Timisoara, Gr. Vieru, and Andrei Doga.
Civil Protection and Emergencies Service spokeswoman Diana Turcan said the recent rain didn’t cause significant damage. Hail fell mainly in Chisinau.
