Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot for the first time has qualified for the final of Roland Garros. It happened after he beat Kazakhstan’s Andrei Golubev, who takes the 209th position in the ATP rankings, 6-0, 7-6, IPN reports.
Earlier in the qualifying rounds, Albot, who ranks 137th in the world, eliminated Spain’s Pere Riba and Sweden’s Christian Lindell. He defeated them both in two sets.
Of the Grand Slam tournaments, Albot competed also in the final of the US Open, where he was eliminated in the first round in 2014 and in 2015. Last year he entered the Top 100 tennis players of the world.
