Radu Albot scored only one victory in the international Challenger tournament of Launceston, Australia. Moldova’s best tennis player was eliminated in the 1/8 finals of the competition, IPN reports.
After beating China’s Di Wu in two sets, Albot lost surprisingly to Jose Statham of New Zealand, who is only the 578th in the ATP rankings. The winner was decided in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Radu Albot can yet take revenge on Statham today, February 13, when they will duel in the doubles. The Moldovan athlete will compete together with Mitchell Krueger of the U.S.
