Moldova’s best tennis player Radu Albot didn’t manage to qualify for the semifinals of the international Challenger tournament held in New Delhi, India. He was beaten by an Indian player in two sets, after an hour and 33 minutes of game, IPN reports.
Albot was defeated by Yuki Bjambri, who is the 414th in the ATP rankings. The first set was won the Indian player on a tiebreak, 7-6. The second set was lost by Albot by 3-6. In the previous round, the 25-year-old player eliminated Ti Chen of Taipei and Ramukumar Ramanathan of India.
As he went through to the quarterfinals of the tournament, Radu Albot will receive a check for US$2,920 and 18 points in the ATP rankings. He also competed in the doubles, but was eliminated in the first round there.
