Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot was eliminated in the second round of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year Australian Open, IPN reports.
The 29-year-old player lost to Spain’s Fernando Verdasco, World No. 28, 1-6, 6-7, 3-6. The game lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Radu Albot is the only Moldovan tennis player who took part in the main competitions of all the Grand Slam tournaments.
The Moldovan tennis player will also compete in the doubles, together with Malek Jaziri of Tunis who reached the semifinals of the US Open last year.
