Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot lost to Spain’s Fernando Verdasco 3-6, 1-6 within the Bucharest international tournament BRD Nastase-Tiriac of the ATP series, IPN reports.
Formerly seventh placed in the ATP rankings, Fernando Verdasco now ranks 86th, while Radu Albot is the 156th. Before this match, the Moldovan athlete managed to beat France’s Paul-Henri Mathieu, who is placed 60th in the world rankings, in the same tournament.
In 2015, Radu Albot entered the Top 100 singles rankings. The qualification for the doubles quarterfinals of Roland Garros in 2015 was his best performance in the four Grand Slam tournaments in which he took part.
