Moldova’s best tennis player Radu Albot managed to qualify for the second round of the Marrakech ATP tournament, of the 250 category. He defeated Spain’s Nicolas Almagro, who ranks 57th in the world, by 7-6, 6-3, IPN reports.
In the next round, Albot will meet the winner of the encounter between Berlocq and Paire. At the competition in Morocco, Bulgaria’s 12th ranked Georgi Dimitrov is the top favorite. Albot can play Dimitrov if he scores a victory in the next game.
Radu Albot is 83th in the ATP world rankings. Recently, he didn’t compete alongside Moldova’s national squad, which failed to qualify for the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group II.
