The results of a thorough analysis of the quality of water treated with the new disinfectant will be presented in a month. There will be analyzed the quality of water at the Wastewater Treatment Station, the water supply networks and at end-users, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vitalie Midari, deputy technical director of the municipal company “Apa-Canal Chisinau” SA, Monday said the water reaching the end-users is examined regularly following the launch of the new system for treating the water with sodium hypochlorite. No negative reactions have been recorded so far.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked that the supplier, in concert with the Municipal Public Health Center, makes a comparative analysis of the water at the Wastewater Treatment Station and of the water reaching the consumers so as to see if it does not change meanwhile.
A new water treatment system that replaced the old one using chlorine was put into operation on April 12. According to SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, the new disinfectant destroys viruses, including microbacteria of tuberculosis and hepatitis. Studies show the cases of tuberculosis and hepatitis in the cities using such a water treatment system fell by 30-50%.
