The Moldovan trains modernized in Romania will be subject to an examination to see if the works done meet the quality requirements. Such a request was made by Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Vasile Botnari, who visited the state-run company Moldova’s Railways and the depot where the modernized railcars are kept on July 25, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, only one of the four trains brought to Moldova after being reconditioned is running, while the rest do not work owing to technical glitches. The modernization of a train costs €2.2 million. The minister expressed his concern that an important investment does not bring benefits.
At the request of Vasile Botnari, the Romanian plant will send a team of experts to Chisinau to remove the faults and to perform additional examinations so that the trains restart work.
