The commission of inquiry that is examining the situation on the pharmaceutical market suggests purchasing more expensive drugs for the state medical institutions. According to the commission’s head, MP Gheorghe Brega, many national medical centers, including the Oncology Institute, are provided with cheap drugs designed for free distribution to patients, while the more expensive medications remain inaccessible, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Why should we allocate so much money for brilliant green antiseptic that can be bought by everyone instead of purchasing drugs for treating patients suffering from tuberculosis, diabetes and other diseases,” Gheorghe Brega said in the commission’s meeting on Tuesday. He stressed that when the cheap drugs are used in large volumes, dearer medicines should be purchased for dealing with the complications. According to Gheorghe Brega, the proposals will be included in the bill with amendments to the Law on Medications. The changes will be made in about half a year. Afterward, there will be held meetings and discussions with all the companies that import, produce or sell drugs in Moldova.
