The persons with mild or severe disabilities and persons whose income is lower than the monthly minimum salary set by the Government will benefit from qualified legal aid. The Cabinet endorsed a legislative initiative that amends the law on state guaranteed legal aid, IPN reports.
“More exactly, by this bill it is suggested adding the persons with mild or severe disabilities and persons whose income is lower than the monthly minimum salary set by the Government, which is now 3,500 lei, to the categories of persons who are offered qualified legal aid, regardless of the size of income. This way, there will be ensured the right to defense of persons from socially deprived categories,” Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco explained in the Cabinet meeting.
The state guaranteed legal aid represents legal services provided to persons who do not have sufficient financial resources to pay for these and who meet the conditions stipulated by the law. The legal aid can be primary (ordinary consultation) and qualified (legal assistance provided in criminal, civil and administrative cases).
