The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission published the Call for Proposal for support to literary translation projects 2016 within the EU program Creative Europe. Thus, the publishing houses of Moldova can submit projects for the translation and publication of a package of three to ten works of fiction from, and into, eligible languages, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Culture, either the source or the target language must be officially recognized in an EU Member States or an EFTA country. Translations from Latin and ancient Greek (source language) into officially recognized languages are also possible.
The program is open to publishers and publishing houses established in an eligible country with at least two years of existence.
Two types of contract duration and support are available: two-year projects for which the maximum grant per project is €100 000 for the two years, and framework partnership agreements (FPA) which last three to four years. The maximum grant is €100 000 per year, per specific agreement awarded under the framework partnership agreement.
The deadline for submissions is April 27, 2016.
