Publications of the Institute of Cultural Heritage could be examined by the National Library. An agreement of cooperation between the two institutions was signed on November 8 during a roundtable meeting held as part of World Science Day, IPN reports.
Director of the Institute of Cultural Heritage Victor Ghilaş said the Institute’s researchers during the last few years printed a number of valuable scientific publications, from archeology to film and theater. The publications show how these areas developed in the Republic of Moldova and it is a pity not to make them available to readers.
The agreement envisions the organization of common activities, exchange of literature and implementation of research and cultural projects that would supplement the National Library’s activity with the assistance of researchers of the Institute of Cultural Heritage and vice versa. “The National Library can help us promote our books and journals in the country and abroad. This is very important as we deal with the cultural heritage and speak about the identity element that should be maintained, developed, promoted and conserved,” stated Victor Ghilaş.
National Library director Elena Pintilei said the two intuitions have cooperated until now too, but from now on this connection will be closer. “The results of scientific researches that can be found in the scientific journals and monographs published by this Institute are all kept at the National Library and were included in our database and are available to users,” she stated.
The signing of the agreement was preceded by a donation of publications to the National Library. These could be examined by readers at different events and will be soon included in the Library’s electronic catalogue intended for users who are at a distance.
