The transit transport in the capital city has a new work program as of March 23. According to mayor general Ion Ceban, the trolleybuses and buses will run from 5:30am until 10:00am and then from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. There will be no public transport during the other periods of time, IPN reports.
On his Facebook page, the mayor general wrote that the trolleybuses and buses will run according to a restricted program, but will anyway run so that the people could go to work or to the hospital.
The rules in the public transport remained the same: keeping of the social distance of at least 1 meter and utilization of hand disinfectants from dispensers installed in each unit of transport. The mayor assured that the measures needed to minimize the risk of catching infections, including COVID-19, are taken daily. The employees are trained how to behave and are equipped according to specialists’ recommendations.
Ion Ceban called on the residents of Chisinau to stay at home, to avoid public places if they do not have urgent necessities and to avoid traveling through the country if there is no urgency.
