The Commission for Exceptional Situations decided that the public sector employees will have away from work during April 7-17, 2020. The decision applies to all the public sector employees and self-managed public authorities, with the exceptions valid last week, IPN reports.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that for the nonworking days, the public sector employees will work according to a plan that will be agreed by the Government when the state of emergency is lifted.

If need be, depending on the epidemiological situation, the period can be extended until April 28 by keeping the salaries for the given period.

The large number of nonworking days in the period will lead to the institution of a six-day working week, stated Premier Chicu.

The managers of health facilities, administrative authorities of the national defense, public order and national security sectors and the education institutions of all levels can summon to work a limited number of employees without whom the work of institutions is in danger.

The public sector employees also had away from work during March 30 – April 3.
