The public procurement process switches from paper to electronic format. This became possible through the agency of the automated information system State Register of Public Acquisitions that was launched by the e-Government Center on February 7, Info-Prim Neo reports.
e-Government Center executive director Stela Mocanu said that this platform is a stage in the process of digitalizing public procurement. The system transposes public acquisitions to an efficient, transparent and competitive mechanism. With the development of the State Register of Public Acquisitions, the people will be able to follow online all the public acquisitions performed in Moldova.
The State Register of Public Acquisitions provides numerous advantages to the participants in tender contests. The bidders can control the process. Interaction with the contacted authorities is simplified, while the possibility of making mistakes is reduced. Direct interaction with representatives of the contracted authorities is reduced to a minimum,” said Stela Mocanu.
Attending the event, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said such a service was needed not only by the Government, but also by whole society, the objective being to ensure modern governance with advanced technologies close to the people. “This platform is a first step. We are yet to adjust the legislation and to adopt clear regulations on public procurement,” he stated, adding that the Government tends to institute ‘paper-free’ governance so as to more objectively assess the way the public servants do their duty.
