Public lecture about equitable work for students given at National Library

Students of the College of Ecology and the University of Tiraspol learned how they can receive support to become employed in a public conference entitled “Decent work and economic growth”. The event was held at the UN Center of the National Library in Chisinau. In the same event, there was opened an exhibition of publications entitled “Equitable work”, IPN reports.

National Library director general Elena Pintilei said a number of public conferences on issues specified in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be held at the National Library in the course of this year. Equitable work centers on four pillars: promotion of jobs, guaranteeing of rights at the workplace, extension of social protection and promotion of the social discourse.

At the same time, the exhibition of publications “Equitable work” that represents only a part of the National Library’s collection can be of assistance to the young people in writing their bachelor’s thesis or in their general development.

Alina Gorschi, senior specialist at the Employment Policy Implementation Division of the National Employment Agency, said the persons looking for a job can anytime go to the 35 local employment agencies to receive support, including by taking part in training programs that would help them later find the desired job.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted on September 25, 2015 by the heads of state and government of the 193 member states of the UN General Assembly. The document includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals that envision the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger and lays down a wide range of economic, social and environmental objectives in an integrated approach, based on the observance of human rights.
