Functionaries of the central public administration were trained to formulate proposals for financing submitted to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) so that the number of eligible projects increases.

Within the workshop, the participants were familiarized with assistance policies, schemes and procedures for registering applications for financing and with case studies based on projects developed by JICA in the Republic of Moldova.

Deputy minister of foreign affairs Daniela Morari underlined the necessity of involving all the Moldovan authorities in realizing the potential of cooperation with Japan and noted the Japanese assistance provided in such areas as health, agriculture and education. The financial assistance of the Japanese partners in Moldova came to US$ 155 million.

Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Masanobu Yoshii said the program of financial assistance for development played one of the most important roles in promoting good Moldovan-Japanese relations.

The workshop was staged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the State Chancellery.
