The new regulations on guarantees of origin for energy produced from renewable sources were proposed for public consultations. According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the document aims to set down a clear framework for recording and managing information on guarantees of origin, as well as the procedures for their issuance, recognition and marketing, IPN reports, with reference to a press release issued by the Agency.

The regulations will give producers the opportunity to earn additional revenue from the marketing of guarantees of origin and consumers will be able to demonstrate compliance with sustainability standards.

The guarantees will be valid for 12 months from the date of production and supply into the network.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation will manage the Electronic Register of Guarantees of Origin, ensuring a transparent and accessible mechanism for all actors involved.
