Public consultations held on draft municipal budget for 2024

The draft decision on the approval of the budget of the municipality of Chisinau for 2024 is to be discussed at public consultations. The most recent debate involved members of the Council for the Development of the Tourist Identity of the Chisinau Municipality, the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association (ANTRIM), the Association of Investors of Romania in the Republic of Moldova. A new round of public consultations is scheduled for Monday, June 17, IPN reports.

The new consultations will involve members of the responsible economic, financial and business-social advisory council of the municipality of Chisinau, the Foreign Investors Association in the Republic of Moldova and the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova. Representatives of the National Association of Restaurants and Recreation Facilities of Moldova MĂR, experts of the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul” the Independent Think Tank “Expert Grup”, the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT”, Promo-LEX Association, “My Community” Program, the National Alternative Municipal City Hall and the European Business Association were also invited to the consultations. 

The Chisinau City Hall said that consultations on the 2024 draft budget will be organized in all the districts of the city, at district head’s offices and at the City Hall, where all the interested parties are invited.

“The schedule of public consultations on the draft budget was published on the official website of the Chisinau City Hall. We urge all the interested parties to analyze the draft budget, to participate in consultations by June 21, 2024 and to send proposals by the indicated date to the email address elena.bragaru.dgf@cmc.md,” reads a press release.

According to the General Finance Division, the general revenues of the 2024 municipal budget were estimated at 7.56 billion lei, while the expenditure at 8.2 billion lei.
