The General Public Amenities Division of Chisinau purchased a number of pieces of equipment for the vehicles involved in cleanup and mechanized snow-removal works in the capital city. The acquisition to the value of about 7 million lei was made with municipal budget funds.
Contacted by IPN for details, the Division’s head Ion Burdiumov said the bought equipment will be distributed to the five districts of Chisinau. It will be used to clean the sidewalks and yards of apartment buildings, including when it snows. The municipal authorities aim to transform the cleanup into a modern and efficient process.
Ion Burdiumov a noted that they acquired five modern leaf aspirators that are maneuverable when cleaning sidewalks. A number of accessories were now bought for the mini-loaders purchased last year, such as brushes and blades that can be attached.
“It will be much easier to clean snow from streets, to gather leaves in yards as the units are small and maneuverable. We also bought attachable equipment for washing sidewalks under high pressure,” he stated, noting the acquisition also includes salt spreader attachments for mini-loaders and containers for building waste.
This year the General Public Amenities Division also bought 50 mowers for cutting grass in public places and yards of apartment buildings.
