The municipal housing sector managing enterprises will use salt spreaders on sidewalks and in yards of apartment buildings. The Chisinau Public Amenities Division is in the process of signing a contract with a business entity for the purchase of 90 salt spreaders, IPN reports.
“We will intervene in yards and on sidewalls in a more modern and more efficient way, not as the previous years,” the Division’s head Ion Burdiumov stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services.
The functionary said the municipal housing sector managing enterprises are ready to deal with winter weather. There will be used 14 HAKO and Citymaster pieces of equipment with blade, broom and salt spreaders, 22 MTZ tractors with blade and broom, five LS tractors, 15 LS XR tractors and five mini-loaders. It is a total of 61 units.
The first six HAKO pieces of equipment that will be used in snow removal works are being cleared.
So far, there were stored 314 tonnes of salt, while 886 tonnes are being delivered by the company contracted for the purpose. A number of 1,200 tonnes of salt and 10 tonnes of calcium chloride will be available this winter. Ion Burdiumov said that a contract for the distribution of 1 tonne of salt to each of the municipal housing sector managing enterprises was signed last week.
