MP Ruxanda Glavan is accused of being to blame for the insufficient number of laboratories that perform tests for COVID-19. In a press briefing, Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalko said the possibility of doing more tests has been limited since Ruxanda Glavan served as minister of health and signed an order to reorganize and liquidate a number of labs. According to him, of the 26 laboratories that existed then, only ten remained, IPN reports.

The MP noted that the former minister of health in 2017 initiated the rise in the prices of medical services. As a result, the prices were raised by even 300%. For example, the tariff for extracting a tooth increased from 109 lei to 302 lei. The assertions that the prices of medical services are higher owing to the governmental policy in healthcare made by Ruxanda Glavan and the Pro Moldova parliamentary group are unfounded.

The Socialist parliamentary group reacted after the Pro Moldova parliamentary group proposed a motion against the governmental policies, actions and inaction in the public health sector on June 18. Then, MP Ruxanda Glavan said that the motion was dictated by the defective management of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and the deplorable state of the national healthcare system.
