The PSRM will put forward a draft Parliament decision by which it will ascertain the usurpation of the Constitutional Court by three judges of the High Court (Domnica Manole, Liuba Șova and Nicolae Roșca) in the political interest of the President. It will also ascertain the violation of the oath taken before Parliament and will ask for the resignation of the three judges, the president of the PSRM Igor Dodon informed in his online program, being quoted by IPN.

According to him, the recent decision of the Court (by which it ascertained the existence of circumstances for dissolving Parliament, e.n.) will lead to an impasse and destabilization. “We are ready for snap parliamentary elections, but remain consistent in the position that the snap elections should take place only after we make sure that at least 1-1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines are delivered to the country and at least 600,000 people are vaccinated. Later, we can have snap elections. If Maia Sandu tries to cause snap elections earlier, we will not agree with this,” said the politician. Igor Dodon added that Domnica Manole, Liuba Șova şi Nicolae Roșca do not deserve to sit on the CC further.

As regards the date of snap elections, Igor Dodon said that for the PSRM the elections can be held in May even, but for the country the elections amid the pandemic are a problem. “I think elections can take place in August at the earliest. After June 1, Parliament could be dissolved and the elections could be held in August if the situation in the country is appropriate. If not, the President can invite Parliament to discussions and a consensus decision can be taken. A dialogue should be held. That’s why I suggest to together decide the date of elections,” stated Igor Dodon.

The Constitutional Court on April 15 ruled that there are circumstances that justify the dissolution of Parliament. The decision is definitive, cannot be challenged and takes effect when it is adopted.
