The Party of Socialists of Moldova (PSRM) registered two legislative initiatives in Parliament. The first bill, which refers to the Law on the Opposition, stipulates that the members of the Audit Office, the Central Election Commission and the Broadcasting Coordination Council should be named by the opposition, the party’s leader Igor Dodon told the journalists, being quoted by IPN.
The Socialists also propose creating an alternative Government, whose work program would be published in the Official Gazette. They suggest devoting one sitting of Parliament a month to the bills put forward by the opposition, without the Standing Bureau discussing them. “I call on those who are today in power to support this bill because in half a year they will shift to the opposition,” stated Igor Dodon.
The second bill submitted by the PSRM refers to the holding accountable of such functionaries as prosecutors, judges and ministers. “The bill provides that the people holding responsible positions should bear responsibility for the incorrect decisions taken by them, to the detriment of the state,” said the lawmaker.
